Driving Range Redevelopment, University of Washington
Karen Kiest Landscape Architects has worked with the University of Washington since 2002 on plans to improve the Golf Driving Range. The entire facility, constructed in 1959 on an original landfill, has been sinking for years. KK|LA prepared all site documents for the improvement package, which provided re-graded chipping and target greens finished with Dream Turf, a responsive artificial turf. The project was completed, from design through construction, in under six months, for $600K. Additional improvements, including a renovated lobby in the pro shop, and tee line upgrades have refreshed the facility.
