John C. Little Sr. Park - Improvements
Karen Kiest completed the Phase II improvements for the park, which is part of the NewHolly community in SE Seattle. The design includes the Inner Green, a circular lawn that is the open center of the area, with the new Water Play and Picnic Shelters and Senior Plaza. The Green mediates between these three primary program elements for the Park. The Green is looped by circulation access points – from the existing play area, from the restrooms, a new access from the Elder Village, as well as the planned SHA Housing. A second, outer loop provides a quieter edge to the area. An overlook Garden is the highest spot and provides a destination for seniors and others who seek a more contemplative spot.
