The Chloe Apartments
The Chloe sits between the southern edge of the Capitol Hill neighborhood, and the northern edge of the First Hill neighborhood, a rapidly developing multi-family neighborhood.
Large canopy trees on Union Street and generous planting strips on 14th Avenue provide a verdant backdrop for the active streetscape. The project is one of the first to meet the generous landscape requirements of the Seattle Green Factor.
The residences wrap around two at-grade courtyards. The arc of the pedestrian spine links the two spaces through the lobby. The entry courtyard situates two plazas within a grove of Japanese maples, including an outdoor terrace for patrons of Marjorie's. Several residences open onto the rear courtyard, which provides a contemplative space for the building.
The roof courtyard offers stunning views west to Downtown and south to Mt. Rainier. There is a large community room. The rooftop deck complete with lounge furniture, gas BBQ and a designated off-leash dog area for all residents to enjoy. The integral green roof provides a rolling landscape of ornamental grasses, herbs, and spring bulbs.
